Sinopsis

The book Colombian Caribbean Seashells contributed to the cataloguing of 1530 species, placing Colombia as the country with the richest biodiversity of marine mollusks in the Western Hemisphere. Many new species were discovered and photographed for the first time in this book and many more are under identification for an upcoming article on deep water shells. The total area covered by this study during the 5 year collection expedition was 30% of the contentinentalcoast and only 5% around the islands of San Andres and Providencia. This leads the authors to believe that they possess around 70% of the recorded species…

Enrique Yidi Daccarett

Nació en Barranquilla en 1960. Cursó estudios de ingeniería y administración en la Universidad de Purdue, West Lafayette, Indiana, USA. Miembro de la Academia de Historia de Barranquilla desde diferentes ejes temáticos: el inicio de la fotografía, la historia de las postales, vapores, migración árabe y alemana, barrios e iglesias. Coleccionista de fotografías y postales originales a partir del siglo XIX sobre Barranquilla, Cartagena y Santa Marta con más de 11.000 postales.
